On November 24th, 2018 the Irish Deer Commission held the first ever Humane Deer Dispatch Course in Ireland to address animal welfare that may arise as a result of Deer Vehicle Collisions. The event was hosted at the Woodlands Range, Newcastle, Co Tipperary, and we are grateful to our host Tom O’Donnell.
The course was oversubscribed, with Irish Deer Commission members attending from all regions. The course was delivered by specialist provider Bradley Bourner of Professional Sporting Solutions, Scotland on behalf of the Irish Deer Commission.
The course was both classroom based and practical, with candidates required to sit an exam. In preparation for the course, the Irish Deer Commission consulted with all relevant agencies and professionals.
We expect to hold further courses in the coming months for our members. If you are not a member you can apply for membership on this website.
